Another Michelin-starred chef is coming to Nashville
Michelin-starred chef Christopher Anderson is taking the reins as executive chef of 1808 Grille at the Hutton Hotel, adding to the ranks of area chefs with the high-profile distinction.
Anderson landed the Michelin Star while leading Chicago’s Moto restaurant, having worked at two other Michelin-starred spots in the Windy City. Most recently, he served as executive chef of SO•PA Restaurant at L’Horizon Resort & Spa in Palm Springs.
Anderson’s hiring comes as Nashville’s culinary scene continues to bulk up its pedigree, with another Michelin-starred chef set to open a restaurant in downtown’s future JW Marriott. Harpeth Square, a development headed to Franklin, has also teased plans for a restaurant helmed by a similarly honored chef.
“As Nashville’s culinary scene positions itself among national heavy hitters, it’s only appropriate that [Hutton] enlist the extraordinary talents of chef Chris Anderson,” Jonathan Bartlett, general manager at Hutton Hotel, said in a news release. “We believe Hutton Hotel will be the perfect platform for Chris to showcase and further his virtuosity and are certain he will be a warmly welcomed addition to Music City cuisine.”
“Food brings people together, passion ignites them, and when the experience is perfect, memories are made. I want to tap into that, I want to bring the very best in local products and flavors to blow people’s minds,” Anderson said in the release. “I want the WOW moment, I want people to remember what it was like to have their mother cook for them, and I want to help people to live in that moment even if it’s only a bite long.”
A longstanding feature in Nashville’s rapidly expanding hotel scene, the Hutton recently announced an ambitious renovation plan.
